“The Empty Tomb Still Speaks”

Luke 24:5-6 (NIV):
"Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He has risen!"

Introduction:
Easter isn’t just about an empty tomb—it’s about a fulfilled promise
The resurrection wasn’t the end of the story—it was the start of a new you.

1: Jesus died for enemies who hated him and brothers who betrayed Him

Before there was a cross, there was a kiss

Jesus was betrayed by someone He broke bread with—Judas, one of the twelve.
Isaiah 53:3 (NLT):
"He was despised and rejected—a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief."
He stood in for the guilty and was stabbed by the grateful

He entered the circle with healing—only to be hurt by it

And even in betrayal, Jesus chose purpose over pain, mission over misery.

2: Jesus Sacrificed His Breath So You Could Find Yours
John 10:18 (NIV):
"No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord."
Every nail was a note in a love letter.
(hammer on wood)

Every drop of blood cried, "You are worth it."

Romans 5:8 (NIV):
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
THE CROSS WAS NOT A PLACE OF DEFEAT BUT DIVINE EXCHANGE

Don’t carry GUILT WHEN GOD HAS GIVEN YOU GRACE

3: He Got Up, So You’d Don’t Have to Stay Down

Luke 23:44–45 (ESV)
“It was now about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour, while the sun’s light failed. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two.”
When It Gets Dark, God Is Still at Work

Luke 24:3-6
3 but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.
4 While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel.
5 And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?
6 He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee…”

Matthew 28:6 (NIV):
"He is not here; he has risen, just as he said."

The tomb didn’t just open—it testified.

THE STONE WAS ROLLED AWAY NOT FOR HIM TO COME OUT BUT FOR YOU TO STEP IN

The resurrection is not just proof of His power—it’s the promise of yours.

Romans 8:11 (NIV):
"The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is living in you."

He Rose by Choice, So You Could Rise by Grace

Don’t just admire the resurrection—live it
